Advanced Trimming Series The Natural Trim: Eliminate Flare, Splits, and Run-under Heels with Jaime Jackson
This series is intended for those who have studied Jaime's "Creating the Perfect Hoof" video, the book Horse Owners Guide to Natural Hoof Care, have some trimming experience, and are ready for more detail. This video concentrates solely on specialized trimming issues.
Jaime receives more questions about dealing with wall flare, cracks, and run-under heels then any other facet of trimming. Here's his step-by-step presentation of solutions to these and other aberrations of normal hoof growth.
We also recommend that you study the information presented in the first video of this series, Trimming the Laminitic Hoof, which shows a detailed diagrammatic approach to the natural trim (along with the actual trimming of two misshapen hooves). In this video, the ideas presented in the first of this advanced series are again put into action, as this video builds on that information, and is the second in a "course" of advanced trimming skills. Jaime goes right to work with the detailed trimming of more problem hooves.
